The WGB Enterprises calendar control is modeled after a control that was written by Dan Bartels and is 100% compatible with Dan's method of using BBCode style tags to add events to the calendar. Everything in Community Server is based off of posts and this calendar is no different.
The calendar does not own any posts like blogs, forums, and galleries do, it owns events that are created from those posts. This allows you to add one or more [cal] tags to the body of any type of post. The [cal] tags themselves do not render, they just add entries to the calendar events table. These events render on the calendar as links to the post that created them.
Simply add a tag like [cal]10/01/2006[/cal] to your post (where 10/01/2006 is the date of your event in MM/DD/YYYY format, leading zeros are required and localized date formats are not supported), or [cal/] to use the date of the post, and if the user who is viewing the calendar has permission to view the post, a link will appear on the calendar (below) for them to see.
